• Keeping your number

    When you sign a contract with Orange Luxembourg, we will take responsibility for requesting the porting of your number from your old Luxembourg operator.

    This service is free.

    The number will be ported providing all your bill payments to your old operator are up to date and providing the details given when your Orange contract was concluded are identical to those on the bill from your old operator. 

    However, to port your number, please remember that you must not cancel your line with your old operator, or you will lose your number.

    All you need to do is tell us that you would like to keep your number, and Orange will take care of everything.

    Exactly how does the number transfer work?

    ❑ Once your subscription is activated, leave the SIM card from your old Luxembourg operator in your mobile so you can still be contacted.
    ❑ You will then receive an SMS announcing the transfer of your number. We will ensure that your number is transferred no later than two working days after receipt of your request. Please note that there may be a delay between the submission of your request and the time it is processed by our system.
    ❑ Once you have received the SMS, remove your old SIM card and insert the new Orange SIM card in your phone. You will be without network temporarily, which is completely normal. At that point the transfer of the number will be in progress, and will take a maximum of 30 minutes.
    ❑ Once your mobile displays the Orange network, the transfer is complete. Your friends, loved ones and acquaintances will now be able to reach you on the same number as before.

    If your number been ported to the Orange network but certain users can no longer call you or send you SMS, what should you do?

    Contact Orange Customer Services by dialling 606 from your mobile to give our adviser examples (the telephone number of the person trying to call you and the time of the call). Our technical department will then check that the routing of all your calls is correctly configured.

    You are already an Orange customer and you are switching from a prepaid card to a subscription.

    If you are switching to a subscription, you don’t need to change SIM card. We will automatically activate your new package and you will keep your current number. 

    What about call credits?

    Make sure you use the available call credit on your prepaid card before switching to a subscription, because the call credit will not be transferred.
